"Bruno Gadenne is a globetrotter, a traveller. He is driven by the strong desire to experience and verify the beauty of the world. The beauty of primordial landscapes, of the jungle, of the primary forest and of other distant lands. A contemporary romantic attitude in which he accumulates, in sketchbooks and in his memory, reminiscences and the "reveries of a solitary walker" that he brings back to the studio. These landscapes, through which the painter's body has passed, are transcribed onto the canvas from photographs taken by himself and reworked on the computer. The treatment of the images creates a subtle distortion of the light, a strangeness combined with a wonder that remains intact."
