With its Kunstakademie (School of Fine Arts), its Kunstpalast (NRW Forum), its internationally renowned art fair (Art Düsseldorf), its large shared studios and its numerous galleries, Düsseldorf is a major player in German artistic life. It supports contemporary art and allows its artists to flourish. This is what we have been able to observe over the six years that we have been representing one of its residents, Jan Kolata. Winner in 2023 of the annual Die Grosse exhibition, which showcases the work of 150 artists at the Kunstpalast, out of more than 1,200 entries, Jan Kolata 'opened the doors' of Düsseldorf to us. It was during a visit to his studio that we were seduced by the energy of the city and the creativity that thrives there.
The result is the NRW Group Show, featuring four artists. Two figurative painters: Lara Kaiser (also a 2023 "young creation" winner at Die Grosse) and Antonia Rodrian, and two abstract painters: Max Frintrop and Jan Kolata.
With NRW Group Show, Le Feuvre & Roze gallery offers a dialogue between styles and a meeting of generations.
